A specialist litigation firm, headquartered in Auckland but with additional offices around the country, is looking for a skilled Senior Associate to add value to the team. This litigation practice specialises in insurance, resource management, health and media law, and have excess demand since owning a large chunk of market share. The work will include a variety of contentious areas across insurance, construction-related litigation, environment and commercial disputes. The practice represents both corporate entities and individuals and work collaboratively in their preparations and arguments. There is ample opportunity for court appearances, from the lower courts and tribunals right through to the High Court and Court of Appeal.
The role will be under the supervision of two Partners, one of which has previously been recognised as a Rising Star in the New Zealand legal community. The culture is close and supportive and the learning and growth opportunities are in abundance.
As a Senior Associate, they are looking for someone who is technically astute but also enjoys managing and leading juniors.
To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates that closely match this criteria:
- 7-11 PQE, preferably in a Private Practice environment, within a litigation team
- Hold a Bachelor of Laws and a New Zealand Practicing Certificate
- Have a strong academic transcript and a demonstrated legal expertise
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, court officials and stakeholders
- Can confidently adapt to various areas of law and the litigation of disputes
