This Firm has been operating in the Auckland region for decades. They have offices in Auckland and Wellington, have around 85 people and are looking for a new Associate to join in the Employment team. The Firm operate a relatively flat management structure, giving equal opportunity for access to everyone and resources. They have a great internal framework and supporting culture that enables their Lawyers to enjoy the workplace and deliver great work.
With the incumbent going overseas and the remainder of the team well resourced at other levels, this role will sit at the intermediate level and require emerging and reliable technical skills and an aptitude for mentoring. Work will be allocated from the team's Supervising partner, then team collaboration and autonomous tasks are readily available. Learn on the go from your peers, appear in court and contribute to the team's energy.
You will advise clients across various employment law issues, including disciplinary and performance management, termination of employment, workplace investigations, and personal grievances. You will also regularly represent clients in mediation and court proceedings and finally, draft employment agreements, policies, and procedures.
To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates that closely match this criteria:
- 5-7 PQE, preferably in a Private Practice environment, within Employment law
- Hold a Bachelor of Laws and a New Zealand Practicing Certificate
- Have a strong academic transcript
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, court officials and stakeholders
- Have chosen Employment law as your preferred practice area
