A nationwide large full service Firm, specialising in the sound delivery of legal advice to individuals, seeks a talented Senior Solicitor to join the Family team. This practice has been built over the decades by dedicated Partners and Lawyers, and has exciting growth plans with the amount of recently acquired business.
This newly created role will be working closely to assist the Partner, seniors and the wider team. Our client is looking for a solicitor with 2-5 years PQE that has a particular passion to possess long-term career in family law. You will be offered numerous opportunities to be involved in interesting and complex files with challenging clients. There is genuine progression available in this position with your ability to get hands on experience with plenty of court work.
As a Family Lawyer, your practice will navigate around the Care of Children Act 2004, Family Violence Act 2018, Property (Relationships) Act 1976, Family Proceedings Act 1980, and Protection Property Rights Act (1988).
To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates that closely match this criteria:
- 2-5 PQE, preferably in a Private Practice environment, within Family law
- Hold a Bachelor of Laws and a New Zealand Practicing Certificate
- Have a strong academic transcript
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, court officials and stakeholders
- Have chosen Family law as your preferred practice area
You will need to have strong drafting skills with knowledge of court agreements, documents and court proceedings. You will manage files from start to finish but also contribute tot he wider team.
The Wellington region has lots to offer from a waterfront promenade, sandy beaches, a busy harbour and colourful timber houses on surrounding hills. From Lambton Quay, the iconic red Wellington Cable Car heads to the Wellington Botanic Gardens.
